It has been a wet and rainy spring here on the coast. Not that I miss the snow.... But some sunshine would be nice! Ben and I had the opportunity to go out for the day on our friend Wayne's sail boat. And what a cool boat it is! Wayne built the boat himself, he is a retired teacher....... used to teach boat building and finish carpentry at the collage. The boat is a miniature version of a 'Barque' (sometimes spelled Bark), Features three masts, two rigged with square sails and the third, in the rear, rigged with fore-and-aft sail. It was AWESOME! Wayne let me wear a Pirate hat and EVERYTHING! I had never been on any kind of a sailing ship and it was so quiet..... no motor noise, just the sound of the wind in the sails and the hull cutting through the water. The boat is beautiful inside as well. The master head (bathroom) has a jetted tub, mirrors on the ceiling, the master berth is in the aft and is like a pirates room in the movies, the windows all open with these big shutters.. a HUGH king sized bed sits in the middle. The galley has
hardwood floors and granet countertops. On the aft deck is a covered 'lounge' area... as you can see that's where Ben liked to sit. LOL. We made a full day of it and even had dinner with Wayne aboard the ship when we got back to the docks. I can't wait to go again!
Ben has been working on our boat... doing some sanding... STILL waiting for the 4-wheeler to sell so we can get to work on the desiel tanks and the aft cabin... GOSH it will be nice to get rid of that desiel smell!!!!
