Last weekend the yacht club cruised to Poulsbo, WA for the annual St Paddies Day Cruise. Ben and I were not planning on taking our boat as we are still fighting a fuel leak.... Grrrrr. BUT... Dave and Donna Printz invited us to tag along with them on their boat. Donna is our 'Fleet Captian', that means she is the official 'cruise director' for the club, she plans our monthly outings, where we are gonna cruise too... gets the moorage lined up for the number of boats we have signed up for the event. This weekend we served two breakfasts and two dinners. Donna had everything prepared ahead of time so it could all be hauled over in her boat.... Friday evening we had Irish stew, Saturday morning, Bloody Marys, waffles and sausages and mushroom chicken with baked potatoes for dinner... Sausage gravy and biscuits with scrambled eggs for breakfast Sunday morning. Everything
had to be prepared ahead of time, loaded onto the boat into coolers... then packed from the boat to the small floating 'barge', building we rented for the weekend. Donna and Dave are both in their 70's so Ben and I spent the weekend working our butt's off packing stuff from the boat to the barge, setting up for the meal... then cleaning up, taking leftovers
BACK to the boat..... and start setting up for dinner. HOLY COW we worked out butts off! LOL I think I know WHY they invited us along! My legs were SO sore from climbing up and down from the boat a zillion times... Didn't need Curves last weekend. In spite of all the work, we had a blast! There was a 'decorate a baked potato' contest... and yes I WON. The prize was a bottle of Irish Cream... YUM! The competition was tough. One guy built a three masted square sailing ship complete with animal cookies on the deck... My pirate boarded his potato ship and ate all his animal cookies. HA... SO THERE! They had a best dressed contest, best decorated boat, best potato, best Limerick, and who could answer correctly a list of questions that made you think.... Questions like...
Jim's mother has 3 children named April, May and what was the third child's name?
What was the Presidents name in 1975?
A farmer has 5 haystacks in the south field and 4 haystacks in the north field. How many haystacks will he have if he combines them in the east field?
In California, why cant you take a picture of a man with a wooden leg?
The butcher is 5'9" tall, wears a size 13 shoe and a size 40" waist pants... What does he weigh?
If a hole measures 16" deep and is 12" around... how much dirt is in the hole?
...Well, you get the idea, Ben got 2 right... BaHaHa, boys they only see the trees, not the forest! I got em'all.
It was a great weekend, I toured all the boats, and boy were there some fancy ones! Made my boat look like a tuna tender! Anyway... We are still recovering from the weekend, not sure I will be so quick to accept the next invitation that comes along. LOL
