I have been LAZY and not keeping up on the blog... SHAME, SHAME! So I figured that I better catch up on all the happenings in the last couple of weeks...  Friday the 16th we drove home to Idaho to attend the baby shower on Saturday for Don and Chas. It was such a wonderful party, even the boys were allowed to attend... well, there was free food and they just kinda stayed to eat. Of course if you stay you HAVE to play the shower games! Don cheated on the Baby Bingo and won that game.... but since he is the new Dad... I guess we will forgive him. Great Grandma Acre was there along with Grandma's Connie, Ann and Max ... (You can NEVER have enough Grandmas!), lots of Aunts, Uncles, and friends. Oh, and a Grandpa too, sorry Ben. It was a great party! Crystal entertained us with great party games, the boys tried to cheat of course.... the food was outta this world. That Connie, she can cook for me anytime! YUM   We spent the weekend with Mike and Karey out at their place in Rathdrum. Their property is soooo pretty, I just love it when we go to visit. The smell of the trees, the sound of the squirrels chattering and the birds.... so very peaceful. The boat can be relaxing... but I AM a country girl and there is just something about being in the woods. Thanks Karey and Mikey for letting us stay  :-)

Last two days have been quiet. Spent most of yesterday in bed or on the couch. LOL. LAZY, LAZY, LAZY.. Trying to get my energy back from a weekend of Grand kids! No rain but the sky has been overcast, kinda a nice change. Cooler temps. Good nappin' weather. Friday we leave for Idaho for a few day to visit family and friends. I can't wait.

Well....... The hammer has come down. I knew it was coming, just a mater of time. I got the word last night.      DO NOT FEED THE DUCKS ......
The Marina manager, the poor guy who has to take a pressure washer to get the goose and duck poop off the docks.... has passed down word, asking all of us Duck Lovers, to please quite feeding the livestock. (Duck Nazi) Anyway... The herd WAS getting a bit out of hand.... I guess.... But how do I break it to them, they are sooo cute! I just love them so.... Kinda cloudy today... supposed to burn off and be in the upper 70's. Think we are just gonna stay on board and watch movies and nap.... them kids took it outta us... Cause we are OLD people. LOL

Jellyfish Whisperer ...                  Everyone slept in this morning, well.... at least till  8ish. Then all heck broke loss. LOL. Showers up at the marina with Grandpa for the boys and of course EVERYTHING is exciting for the 4 year old twins! Even a shower in the marina is an adventure! Eggs-in-a-nest, sausage and O.J. for breakfast, then off to the docks for more adventure. The Kids thought it was way KOOL that you could catch and HOLD Jellyfish!  The twins were awe struck and wanted to hold everyone! They loved the small Candle fish and wanted to know if we could 'light' them.. or if they would 'burn' us... No girls, we don't light the Candle fish. LOL Crystal discovered that if you slap it the water you can actually 'call' the Jelly's to you at the surface.... or at least SHE could... (Kid's always been a little weird....) anyway, the boys were pretty good Jelly catchers as well! Root beer floats for lunch. YUM. Then, sadly it was time for the kids to pack up and head for Idaho. It has been so awesome this summer to have Chas and her crew and Crystal and kids come visit us this summer. I have missed them all soooooo much! Spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning and RESTING.... Gosh I wish I could bottle that energy! What a GREAT weekend!

Batter up.....   What a FUN weekend! Crystal and the kids came to visit Grandma and Grandpa on the boat! YAH!!! The twins, Cassie and Kyra, and the boys, Shawn and Jake. They got in late last night around 8ish... and after a flurry of pillows and blankets, exploring the boat and a few whispered concerns about "sharks"...... Boys, quite scaring your sisters! Everyone settled down into their bunks and beds. The next morning we got up EARLY to make the 1 1/2 hour drive to take Jake to his baseball game. It was the first time we got to see him play and boy did he! The little slugger hit a home run! Handsome and talented...... His team won both games, of course. It was a long afternoon but so much fun.
The kids explored the docks and loved feeding the Georges (Geese and Ducks). All the kids, even Crystal... got to go for a ride in Grandpa's Dingy. They wanted to take out the big boat... but we just didn't have enough time, Bummer.

This entire week has been glorious! The evenings are awesome! Nice and cool, the days heat up to the upper 70's lower 80's. It's just perfect. Clear blue skies and starry nights. The mornings are bright and clear. I love having my coffee on the back deck early... 5:30 or 6, it's so quiet and peaceful. The water is so calm and smooth.... like glass.... It's magick. Crystal and the grand kids are showing up tomorrow. I can't wait to see the twins, Cassie and Kyra. and Shawn will LOVE all the kool sea life and we get to go watch Jake play in a couple of his last baseball games  of the summer... How cool is that! They will only be here till Sunday. I am so excited to share everything with them. The starfish and jellyfish and ducks and geese and all the other neat stuff on the docks.
I had to include this picture of a Californian Trawler that Ben and I found on one of our cruises. It is a few years newer than ours... But it is sooo nice. This is what I want our boat to look like! Work, Work, Work......

All Hail the QUEEN of the Hobo's !!!!! Yes it is true, I have won the crown. Big Mike was crowned King and yours truly the queen. I had sooo much fun! For dinner we had fresh caught white salmon grilled on the BBQ, corn on the cob, baked potatoes, salad, grilled bread... an open bar. Gosh life is GOOD when you are a hobo. I even dressed Zoe in a matching little hobo costume. She looked so cute. We got to know a bunch of new people and had a great weekend. It was fun to get out of the same ol' rut, meet some people, drink and laugh. I had a really good time. They feed us a great breakfast every morning and an awesome dinner both nights. Tomorrow we have coffee and pastries on the dock then we head out around noon, back to Port Washington. Can't wait to do it again.

Port Orchard Yacht Club Labor Day Weekend Cruise This weekend is the official Hobo Cruise for our Yacht Club. We cruised into our destination around noon on Friday, just around the corner at the Bremerton Yacht Club. WOW... what a beautiful club and marina they have! The docks are both open and covered, boat houses line the wide and well lighted docks. The club house has a large meeting rooms as well as a big common area where we enjoyed a great breakfast this morning. The kitchen is set up to feed an army! They also have a very nice little park and a a Hugh pavilion that also boasts a full kitchen on one end and a gas fireplace on the other... FANCY... We were supposed to have one oar dingy races today but after that big breakfast I think everyone just wants to take a nap to kick back and just visit. Tonight we are BBQing burgers in the pavilion. I have to work on my Hobo costume. Tomorrow night they crown the King and Queen Hobo and of course I plan on winning. LOL

I have discovered that I actually have a following... well sorta.. I am so excited. I mean I knew that a few friends and weird relatives followed my Blog.. (Thanks Janie for ALWAYS posting a comment to let me know SOMEONE is listening)... But I recently found out that people actually look forward to my daily blurbs about weather and tidal shift and ducks and geese. So I am once again spurred on to try my best to post a bit more often and not neglect my blog..... I finished the canvas covers for the front windshield and side windows. I sewed them and Ben put in the snaps. There are a few things I would have done different, better... but all in all they turned out great. The labor was free, the material was about $60 not bad. They sure keep the sun from burning in all day long. It keeps the boat so much cooler. Next step is the side windows and lower bedroom windows.
